The day started off with an exciting drama class with teachers, Angela Morosin and Claire Yeomans. A few Secondary School drama students also joined in. It was the first time Year 10 Drama students had the chance to meet the Darkinjung students, so the morning started with a range of ice-breaker games designed for everyone to get to know one another. Games such as ‘Me- You’ ‘Postcards’, ‘Handshakes’ and ‘ The Dragon Key game’ all helped to build a sense of fun and teamwork without being too overwhelming. Creativity was shown amongst each group as they successfully worked together to interpret each idea including ‘a dog in a car’ and ‘the Harbour Bridge’.
The Drama Department feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the Darkinjung students and many Year 10 students cite the experience as a highlight of Year 10 Drama.
The next stop was their first Robotics class with Jeser Mross Becker, David Frazer and Lael Grant.
In pairs, the students were given a robot each to work on. These robots will head home with the students where the building process will continue over the next few weeks.
The students were immersed in the action and excited to build the robots. Once the robot has been built they will be able to work and control the robot with the controller provided.
